Every year the University of Ottawa Accounting Society sponsors a conference which is very similar to another conference which takes place not too far away, at the Ryerson University, sponsored by the Accounting Society there.
This year Ryerson will be holding its third annual event, from February 10th through 12th, at the Ted Roger’s School of Management at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. The conference/competition is known as ACHIEVE; Accountants Competing to Heighten Individual Excellence, Visions and Education.
The competition was created to allow students to show-off their skills and talents while they work on networking with others with similar business and career interests. Industry professionals are also on-hand to observe, teach, and motivate.
Each team in the competition will consist of four team members. Universities from around the region are encouraged to send as many as two teams for each school, making this competition a great showcase for the talents of their university. At the end of the weekend winners are chosen, and those in first place will be awarded a cash price of $1500, while those coming in second place will receive medals of honor.
